FALL decorations in a RICH household

When the kids came home from school and saw these little fall and Halloween touches, there were cheers and fist pumps.

They always welcome how the change in season brings a change in decor.

And then, at supper-time, we clear the decorations off of the table
... and it looks like this:

The plates don't match.
The cups don't match.
Heck, even the chairs don't match.

But do you know what?

There is milk in those mismatched cups and glasses.
Those mismatched chairs provide a place for us to sit together at meal times.
And those plates that don't match ... those will soon be full of food that provides nourishment and fills our bellies.

We might not have all of the well-put-together sets of everything that match.

But we have exactly what we need.

It's one of the many examples of how when you walk in our door, you can clearly see that we are obviously not rich.

From where I sit, I can see:

Our baseboards don't match.
The cupboards are old.
The pillows don't match the couch.
The curtains are fraying.
We have cracks in our tile.

I could go on and on.

But that's just STUFF.

You see, it is also obvious when you walk in our door ...
that God has blessed us with a rich life.

... and THAT'S what matters.
