Mothers Quote
I heard this today on my way to pick up my oldest daughter from preschool. My own mother gave me a cd awhile ago full of faith-inspired stories and some scripture, which I listen to when it's only the baby and me in the truck. And ironically enough, it was on that cd today that I heard this quote.
“A mother is the truest friend we have,
when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us;
when adversity takes the place of prosperity;
when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us;
when trouble thickens around us,
still will she cling to us,
and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness,
and cause peace to return to our hearts.”
Washington Irving
... and what a beautiful, true quote it is.
