Is 4th grade the big year where boys typically notice girls?
Because.... MAN OH MAN.
Let me back up a bit...
Last year, when Logan was in 4th grade, he really struggled to keep up with his schoolwork, and I think it was mostly because he was completely twitterpated.
4th grade for him was heaven.
4th grade for us was a nightmare.
That boy would have forgotten his head if it wasn't attached to him.
He would have just sat, starry-eyed staring at a wall if we'd let him.
Now, this year, SAM is struggling... and he is also twitterpated.
Sam, our A/B student who is organized beyond belief ...
is barely passing.
And very much in like with a girl.
We got an email from his teacher that he was behind, so we headed in to the school to:
1. show that we are pretty kick-a$$ parents
2. get a list of missing assignments from his teacher
3. embarrass him enough to never let this happen again
4. clean out his desk
5. make him find all of those missing assignments
6. see where this girl is seated in relation to where he is seated
...
And what did we find?
We found:
1. The young lady in question sits directly behind him.
2. a stack of doodles and drawings of Spongebob
3. 13 missing and unfinished assignments stuffed in his desk.
13!
Homework of this magnitude required him to bring home
every...
single...
textbook.
It was a team effort carrying them all out of the school.
This is what our kitchen looked like that evening.
He sat there from 3:30 until 8:30, only being allowed to get up to:
1. use the bathroom
2. eat supper
3. shower.
And the kid never complained once.
Although, he did start to go a little crazy at around 8:00 PM. when he started speaking in tongues.
.
Oh, what I have to look forward to in the coming years! Funny post!!
